Product description

Hindu Rope Hoya are unique and exotic evergreen tropical flowering succulent vines that produce round clusters of about 40 pink small star shape fragrant flowers. This is a green-leafed variety but there is also a variegated variety with leaves that are either pink or white to creamy white around the leaf edges. They are known for their waxy appearance, easy-care, and their beautiful display of colorful pink flowers. They are primarily kept indoors as hanging plants with trailing vines and love bright indirect sunlight and warm humid locations away from drafts. As succulents, they require very little water and should only be watered when the soil is almost completely dry. During the spring feed monthly with a diluted high potassium liquid fertilizer to promote blooming. Use a very loose potting medium with sand, pumice, and perlite that gets some air to the roots and drains very well. Hoya likes to be a little root-bound and should be kept in smaller pots. Shipping and handling can be very tough on live plants so please be sure to open and check your plant right away. We are unable to ship this plant to California due to restrictions by the California Department of Agriculture. Please be aware that if your pet is a plant chewer this plant is considered mildly toxic to animals. Please ensure that you order and receive an American Plant Exchange plant shipped and sold by Amazon. American plant exchange is a 35-year-old Florida based family nursery that supports women in our community in a mutually beneficial work release skill development program.

All Abuzz About Bugs!

We are an online community of naturalists who enjoy learning about and sharing our observations of insects, spiders, and other related creatures.

We enjoy the opportunity to instill in others the fascination and appreciation that we share for the intricate lives of these oft-maligned creatures.

Our Mission

Using the best resources we have access to, we are creating a knowledgebase to help each other and the online community.

Our Method

We collect photographs of bugs from the United States and Canada for identification and research.

We summarize our findings in guide pages for each order, family, genus, and species.

Making New Discoveries

More than just a clearinghouse for information, this site helps expand on the natural histories of our subjects. By capturing the place and time that submitted images were taken, we are creating a virtual collection that helps define where and when things might be found.

We capture never-before-seen behaviors and we have photos of species that you won't find anywhere else on the web.
